Office introduction and how to work with a US lawyer

We will deliver a series of antitrust-related webinars by Attorney Fornaciari (commonly known as Mr. Jack) who also acts as an agent for many Japanese companies focusing on antitrust cases.

In an antitrust case involving a Japanese company, he also served as counsel for shipping giant Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK). The amount of surcharge the company received from the Japan Fair Trade Commission (approximately 131 billion yen) exceeded the fine imposed in the United States ($5,940 million, approximately 2014 billion yen as of 69), making this the first large-scale case in which the amount of fines in the United States and Japan were reversed. Furthermore, in the civil proceedings of Nippon Yusen following the detective, the court has quickly won a dismissal decision. Attorney Fornaciari has represented NYK and its group companies, as well as Japanese auto parts manufacturers who were frustrated with endless civil litigation, and has successfully resolved numerous class action and opt-out cases for Japanese companies with minimal settlements.
