Kwon Lee is a partner and a member of Asia Committee. He also serves as Global Head of the firm’s Korea Practice. Megan Gajewski Barnhill
Megan Barnhill counsels foreign and domestic clients on regulatory matters related to international business transactions, including U.S. export controls, economic sanctions, and antiboycott. Ms. Barnhill regularly advises clients on issues related to U.S. export controls administered by the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, and the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security.
In addition, Ms. Barnhill counsels clients on issues related to economic sanctions administered by the Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control, including sanctions programs related to countries (e.g., Iran, Cuba, and Russia) and against individuals, entities, and vessels.
Ms. Barnhill assists clients in conducting due diligence reviews, compliance audits, and investigations; drafting and updating compliance programs; determining commodity jurisdiction and classification and drafting commodity jurisdiction and classification requests; preparing license applications; drafting voluntary disclosures; responding to government requests for information; and ensuring day-to-day compliance with US export controls and economic sanctions.
She also advises clients on compliance with the antiboycott provisions administered by the Department of Commerce and the Department of the Treasury.
