Seth D. Rothman is a litigation partner at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, who focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, arbitration, products liability and mass torts. Seth has more than 30 years of experience representing clients in courts throughout the country, in arbitrations, and before other tribunals. He has been involved in high stakes matters on behalf of leading pharmaceutical companies, financial institutions, and multinational corporations. Seth is Co-Chair of the firm’s Asia Pacific Practice Group and has significant experience representing Japanese clients in international arbitrations and U.S. litigation.

Paul Marston, Counsel

Paul Marston is counsel at Hughes Hubbard & Reed’s office in Tokyo. Paul focuses his practice on large-scale corporate transactions, including M&A, construction, development and licensing. In addition, Paul has extensive experience in energy transactions. He also served as in-house counsel to a subsidiary of a large Japanese trading company, where he was responsible for managing complex litigation relating to the Macondo oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Paul can read, write and speak in Japanese fluently.

Shigeki Obi, Associate

Shigeki Obi is an Associate of Hughes Hubbard & Reed New York Office and is a member of our Asia Pacific Practices Group, representing Japanese companies in litigation and arbitration cases. Attorney Obi is Japanese and has legal qualifications in Japan and New York. He also recently led a Japanese power company to success in a $ 7 million international arbitration case.
