For Japanese companies, it is becoming increasingly important to understand the management risks of Chinese and ASEAN subsidiaries. Looking at the cases of establishment of investigation committees disclosed by listed companies, we can see that although there have been many cases of Chinese subsidiaries in the past, the number of disclosed cases of misconduct by ASEAN subsidiaries is gradually increasing. Since the contents and causes of these misconduct cases are common, it would be valuable for the compliance management departments of Japanese companies to examine the cases of disclosure and verify the causes and preventive measures.In addition, there are relatively new risks in China Asia related to business and human rights that may require more attention in the future in relation to suppliers and local partners in joint ventures, and these will be discussed in a series of three sessions with case studies. In Part 3, we will discuss How Business and Human Rights Became Critical and Risks in China-Asia Joint Venture Subsidiaries.
