The work style of “freelance” is spreading. According to a recent Cabinet Secretariat survey, there are about 462 million freelancers. However, as the number of freelancers increases, troubles related to freelancing are increasing, and the risks involved in companies using freelancers are increasing. In September 2022, the Cabinet Secretariat made a public comment on the "Direction of the Legal System for Appropriate Transactions with Freelancers. It is expected that a new law will be submitted to the Cabinet Secretariat to impose the obligation to deliver a contract document for transactions with freelancers, and we have no choice but to respond to this new law in practice.
This time, I will explain the current situation of freelancers, the contents of the "New Law," the types of freelance troubles that are often seen, and practical measures such as drafting contracts to prevent troubles, in a total of three sessions. The theme of Part3 is "Practical measures to prevent freelance troubles".
