The former Trump administration has tightened restrictions on China in response to growing tensions between the United States and China, but the new Biden administration is likely to maintain a strict stance on China. Japanese companies doing business in the U.S. or China, or doing business with U.S. or Chinese companies, are exposed to the risk of incurring significant losses due to U.S. restrictions on China and countermeasures by China if they do not carefully examine the impact of recent restrictions on China on their companies and take countermeasures.
In this seminar, we will provide an overview of recent U.S. regulations on China and the positioning of each regulation, focusing on (1) information and communications (technical competition over 5G, protection of communications infrastructure in the United States), (2) human rights (Hong Kong issue, Uighur issue), (3) Military-civilian fusion (regulations on military end-use against China, list of Chinese mlitary companies). The presentation will also explain the impact of each regulation on Japanese companies and how to respond to it.
Only members can watch it.
Please refrain from registering at a law firm, in the same industry as our company, or with a free email address.
