The repeated scandals of Japanese companies and the decline in their competitiveness show that a change in thinking is necessary regarding corporate governance and organization building. In a "world without correct answers," companies need to return to their purpose and corporate philosophy, and to dynamically implement and operate "self-governance" mechanisms based on intrinsic motivation to achieve that goal. Governance needs to be reconsidered from this perspective. In addition, in order to design the values and behavioral patterns of people within an organization to the desired state, an approach to organization building that focuses on the mechanisms of human decision-making and learning is required. Therefore, in this seminar, the first in a series of compliance seminars, we will focus on new governance as self-governance.
