Overview
In recent years, the issue of "business and human rights" has been highlighted as part of corporate social responsibility. In September 2022, the Japanese government also formulated the “Guidelines for Respecting Human Rights in Responsible Supply Chains, etc.” In addition, there are cases in which human rights risks have become apparent in relation to international businesses developed by Japanese companies and the treatment of foreign technical intern trainees. Mishandling these human rights issues could lead to a major blow to corporate value. In this seminar, we will introduce the issue of "Business and Human Rights", including examples of human rights DD initiatives and the direction of Japanese companies' efforts.
