The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Guidelines for Trade Secret Management," which were fully revised on January 2015, 1, are being revised again on January 28, 2019, and the "Handbook for the Protection of Confidential Information" will also be revised in May of this year (1). There is a growing focus on the protection of trade secrets.
In this series of three videos, I will review basic knowledge about the Unfair Competition Prevention Law, and then explain the points to consider when establishing an internal system and internal rules to protect the company's trade secrets, showing a model of the rules and examples of individual clauses. The first theme is "Laws and Guidelines Concerning the Protection of Trade Secrets - Basics of the Unfair Competition Prevention Act".
