E Preserved several target person's e-mails and approximately 4,000 chats, and conducted digital forensics. KIBIT was also used to sort the preserved and recovered data to improve review efficiency.
KIBIT in this case contributed to optimizing time and cost by accurately narrowing down the review targets while ensuring comprehensiveness.
Although the target was approximately 870,000 documents, the actual number of documents reviewed by the committee was reduced to approximately 14,000 by searching, de-duplication, email threading, and sorting in score order by KIBIT.
The committee first reviewed the 13,000 documents that had been narrowed down based on the time period and other factors, and detected documents that were important/relevant. Then, using the important/relevant documents as teacher data, the committee sorted all the target documents in order of score by KIBIT, and conducted an additional review of the 1,000 documents with high scores. As a result, the actual number of reviews was approximately 14,000 out of 870,000 target documents.
